# Building the Android wrapper
|
|
|
|
The source targets Android SDK 35, Java 17, Android Gradle Plugin 8.7.3, and Gradle 8.9.
|
|
|
|
From this directory, with the Android SDK and Gradle installed:
|
|
|
|

|
|
The debug APK is written to `app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk`.
|
|
|
|
Android requires the same signing certificate for upgrades. The release bundle intentionally excludes the private key used for the prebuilt APK. Use the included signed APK for existing Shields unless you have retained the original key separately.
